چکیده
Abstract Background/Introduction Although second-generation drug eluting stent (DES) employing biodurable polymer drastically shortened the duration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT), previous reports raised concerns that switching from DAPT to single increased rates subsequent thrombosis with time. Third-generation DES bioabsorbable has been introduced so as not hinder healing process vessel wall, however, at present, both and those are used in parallel. It means there is no conclusive evidence regarding pros cons these two types polymers. Purpose This study aims clarify how act on human coronary artery by observing neointimal coverage (NIC) in-stent thrombus comparing third-generation bioabsorbable-polymer cobalt-platinum everolimus-eluting (BP CoPt-EES), biodurable-polymer cobalt-chromium (DP CoCr-EES). Methods a multicenter observational including 11 hospitals. We investigated 70 stents CoPt-EES: 40, DP CoCr-EES: 30) 60 cases, who underwent implantation followed simultaneous observation angiography, IVUS angioscopy within 6 12 months. For angioscopy, we recently available, high-resolution angioscope pixel count 9,000 which realized analysis planar detection precisely. Neointimal was graded G0: non G3: full coverage, heterogeneity value neointima measured difference between maximum minimum NIC grade. Results A strong relationship observed grade all (p=0.0011), (p=0.012). There statistical BP CoPt-EES vs. CoCr-EES; 0: 0 (0.0%) 2 (6.7%), 1: 13 (32.5%) (36.7%), 2: (15.0%) (20.0%), 3: 21 (52.5%) p=0.17) neither (p=0.49). The ratio did reach difference; 16 (40.0%) 17 (56.7%) CoCr-EES (p=0.23). Conclusion existence associated coverage. significant EES after months following deployment. Stent Fracture after Everolimus-Eluting Stent Implantation
Compared with bare-metal stents, drug-eluting stents (DES) have greatly reduced the risk of in-stent restenosis (ISR) by inhibiting neointimal growth. Nevertheless, DES are still prone to device failure, which may lead to cardiac events. Recently, stent fracture (SF) has emerged as a potential mechanism of DES failure that is associated with ISR. Stent fracture is strongly related to stent type...
متن کاملLate stent recoil of the bioabsorbable everolimus-eluting coronary stent and its relationship with plaque morphology.
OBJECTIVES This study sought to evaluate late recoil of a novel bioabsorbable everolimus-eluting coronary stent (BVS), which is composed of a poly-L-lactic acid backbone, coated with a bioabsorbable polymer containing everolimus. BACKGROUND Little is known about the mechanical behavior of bioabsorbable polymer stents after deployment in diseased human coronary arteries. METHODS The study po...
متن کاملOverview of Intracoronary Brachytherapy for in-Stent Restenosis of a Drug-Eluting Stent
Percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting is considered recently as the most common procedure for the treatment of symptomatic coronary. The article reviewed 41 studies published during 1997-2019 on intracoronary brachytherapy for in-stent restenosis of a drug-eluting stent. Intracoronary radiation therapy was finally confirmed in the setting of in-stent restenosis using as adjunctive th...
متن کاملOral everolimus inhibits in-stent neointimal growth.
BACKGROUND Rapamycin (sirolimus)-eluting stents are associated with reduced restenosis rates in animal studies and initial human trials. The present study evaluated whether orally administered everolimus (a macrolide of the same family as sirolimus) inhibits in-stent neointimal growth in rabbit iliac arteries. METHODS AND RESULTS New Zealand white rabbits were randomized to everolimus 1.5 mg/...

OBJECTIVES This study sought to compare the efficacy of drug-eluting balloons (DEB) with that of everolimus-eluting stents (EES) in patients with bare-metal stents (BMS) in-stent restenosis (ISR). BACKGROUND Treatment of patients with ISR remains a challenge. METHODS This was a prospective, multicenter, randomized trial comparing DEB with EES in patients with bare-metal stents (BMS) in-sten...
